Usage Label

• terms considered obsolete or deprecated have been marked as deprecated term. Deprecated terms may still be in current use.
• archaic indicates a word is unambiguously obsolete and has not been in current use for several decades. To simplify searching, archaic words should be marked both with archaic and deprecated.
• colloquial indicates words used in colloquial language, but which should be avoided in scientific language.
• other potential usage labels are offensive or taboo – unlikely to be used here ...
