View source for Category:Usage label

Occasionally a usage label has been added in addition to the [[:Category:Word form categories|word form categories]]:

* terms considered obsolete or deprecated have been marked as [[:Category:Deprecated term|deprecated term]]. Deprecated terms may still be in current use.
* [[:Category:Archaic|archaic]] indicates a word is unambiguously obsolete and has not been in current use for several decades. To simplify searching, archaic words should be marked both with archaic and deprecated.
* [[:Category:Colloquial|colloquial]] indicates words used in colloquial language, but which should be avoided in scientific language.
* other potential usage labels are offensive or taboo – unlikely to be used here ...

By clicking on any of the links above, you will see a list of all pages containing a link to a given category. With few exceptions (e.&nbsp;g. the links from this page), these links indicate that a glossary entry belongs to that category.

Note: Some other header information (synonym, opposite, variant spelling) was considered not helpful to treat as a category.
