number (noun, pl. numbers) – a measurable, countable quantity, i. e., arithmetic values that can be recorded with Arabian numerals as single digits, fractions, a sum or a series and a metric unit that unambiguously denotes what those measures represent (e. g., 13.75 µm as a measure of distance, 50.6 °C as a measurement of heat, etc.).
