LIAS Glossary
In order to describe and identify lichens and ascomycetes, the [1] project uses a wide range of descriptive terms. This glossary aims to provide definitions for the terms used in the character and character state definitions of LIAS. It is under ongoing development and we ask all interested researchers to excuse incompleteness and errors. Your criticism or collaboration is highly welcome! See "About" for further information about the project.
Entry points
- Use the search box in the top right corner.
- Use the alphabetical index, either as first letter index or complete index (slow!) .
- Browse the content by selected categories, see all categories or Top level categories. Please note that categorization is currently incomplete!
How to contribute
- After obtaining a user account, you are welcome to make corrections, point out errors. Note that it is good Wiki style to ruthlessly rewrite a definition if you consider this necessary. Your changes will be easy to trace since all versions of a page are preserved and a comparison function is available (links behind ">" in the footer of each page). Write comments at the end of an article only if you are uncertain about a correction.
- We urgently need illustrations (drawings, photos, diagrams). We thank you for your contributions. They will be clearly labelled with your authorship and the copyright remains with you!
Newcomers to Wikis: You may want to read the Wiki Help page!
This page is part of the LIAS Glossary. It is closely interlinked with the other LIAS projects: LIAS • LIAS light • LIAS names • LIAS gtm. See also Cooperating Websites
Many pages in the LIAS Glossary is in need of further revisions. Please contribute. Criticism as well as collaboration is welcome!
