parasitism (noun, pl. parasitisms;ecology term) – an exploitative, detrimental symbiosis, i. e., a close association of organisms that is detrimental for one of the symbionts; the parasite exploiting the host, depriving it of resources like nutrients, sunlight, heat etc. Kind of:Symbiosis type.
