Commensalism
commensalism (pl. commensalisms) – a kind of symbiosis, without any apparent detriment for any of the partner, but an indirect benefit for one symbionts, the commensal. This commensal typically inhabits or lives on its host without a deteriorating, detrimental or damaging effect. The fact that the host provides a habitat for the commensal must be interpreted as a benefit, but the sheer presence of the commensal is not necessarily exploitative; cf. symbiosis.
