Mazaedium

mazaedium (pl. mazaedia; alternative spelling: sl. macaedium, pl. macaedia) – a powdery mass of ascospores, disintegrating ascus walls and paraphyses covering the disk of an apothecium and typically observed in calicioid Physciaceae and Mycocaliciales.
