reacting ZnIKI positive (ZnIKI+) (adj.) – reacting with chlor-zinc iodine (stock solution: a solution of 100 g zinc chloride and 35 g potassium iodide in 60 ml distilled water; working solution: combine stock solution with 1.5% IKI in the proportion of 9:1). Used in lichenology to distinguish dead algal cells in microscopic sections of the phenocortex of some species.
