Hue
hue (noun, pl. hues) – a quality of colour as determined by the dominant wavelength of the light that is either directly emitted by a light source, or indirectly reflected from a surface. Monochromatic light, i. e., the light of a single wavelength, is typically attributed to a single hue of colour. However, contrary to common belief, there are no absolute primary colours, i. e., there is no single set of colours that can produce all other hues. Instead, almost any three or more colours can be mixed to produce all other hues. The term primary colour is, nevertheless, commonly used to denote standard hues of light (RGB) or ink (CMY) that generate colour on different devices; see colour type; colour tone; also see chroma, lightness, and colour.
