Septal structure

septal structure (noun, ascospore term,spore morphology term, pl. septal structures) – cell organelles or other, simpler structures (lamellae, dense cytoplasm areas, etc.) associated with septal pores. Some of these structures may possibly act as a seal in ascogeneous hyphae preventing migration of nuclei across cells not identical or similar in structure to the more elaborate dolipores of basidiomycetes.
