Hormocyte
From LIAS Glossary
hormocyte (noun, pl. hormocytes; variant spelling: sl. hormocyst, pl. hormocysts) – a somatic propagule of some gelatinous lichens composed of few photobiont cells and fungal hyphae densely aggregated as chains within gelatinous clumps; arising from specialized structures called hormocytangia. The spelling hormocyte (without the "s") is preferable because these cells (= cytes) are not vegetative propagules (= cysts).
