placodiomorph (adjective; deprecated term) – generally referring to any two-celled spores with a thickened septum, whether a proper or endospore septum; an obsolete term based on the erroneous assumption that the endospore swelling of locular spores can be compared to a thickened septum often observed in Physciaceae-spores.
