Physciaceae spore type (noun, pl. ... types) – (noun, ascospore term, pl. ... types) – very similar to and probably identical with the ???-type, but originally distinguished by the absence of a torus; in the strict sense only applied to spores with a distinct torus, but more recently also applied to include ???-type ascospores that typically lack a torus.
