endoascus (noun, ascus term, pl. endoasci; synonym: endotunica;deprecated term) – the inner functional layer of a fissitunicate or semi-fissitunicate ascus. This functional layer is not always formed by the same ascus wall layers and ultrastructure of endoasci from different ascus types is therefore not identical. This is a: part of ascus.
