location (pl. locations; synonym: sl. placement, pl. placements) – the site, where a structure is located (placed) on or within a particular organism; e. g., pruina are located (placed) at the thallus surface of a lichen, on some mycelia apothecia form in the older central parts only; cf. position; sometimes used in the sense of locality, i. e., the place, where an organism was found or collected.
