Pseudoseptum

pseudoseptum (pl. pseudosepta) – a feign septum, i. e., an apparent division of the cytoplasm that does not correspond to a true division of a cell but most likely represents artefacts from collapsed membranes in dead herbarium material; pseudosepta can usually be dissolved in 5% (or 10%) KOH.
