Pseudoseptum

pseudoseptum (noun, ascospore term,spore morphology term, pl. pseudosepta) – a false septum, i. e., an apparent division of the cytoplasm not corresponding to a true division of a cell but most likely represents artefacts from collapsed membranes in dead herbarium material. Pseudosepta can usually be dissolved in 5% (or 10%) KOH.
