-colous

–colous (Latin,suffix, variant spelling: –cole) – living on, living in, inhabiting; referring to an organism growing parasitic on or inside another organism or growing on or inside a particular substrate, e. g., lichenicolous (parasitic on lichens), calcicolous (growing on limestone), terricolous (growing on soil). Not to be confused with the ending "–eous" as in siliceous (made of SiO2-based minerals).
