Altitudinal belt

altitudinal belt (noun,biogeography term, pl. altitudinal belts) – a geographic distribution area delimited by climatic constraints of the altitude, both upper and lower boundary represent a tension zone, where altitudinal belts overlap and plants (or plant-like organisms) reach a distribution limit.
