Diffuse

diffuse (adjective) – scattered and without any definite pattern and lacking a distinct margin, spread-out but not localized or concentrated in one area; e. g., scattered areoles are dispersed, not diffuse, whereas leprose thalli that break apart are diffuse, but not dispersed.
