Evanescent

evanescent (adjective) – vanishing, soon disappearing, only lasting a short time; (1) thallus growth: disappearing at maturity, like the crustose primary thallus of some Cladonia species; (2) ascus dehiscence: soon disintegrating; typically referring to asci that disintegrate entirely to release their ascospores.
