Fusiform

fusiform (adjective) – spindle-shaped; very narrowly ellipsoid (L : W =) but more or less pointed or tapering at both ends; usually referring to spores; some authors use the term (often modified by "narrowly" or "broadly" to refer to roughly ellipsoid shapes in which the ends narrow ± smoothly but rather rapidly from the centre. Related terms: citriform, fusiform-elongate.
