juga (noun, pl. jugae) – minute carbonaceous structures in or on the thallus (e. g., in Verrucaria), which can be round and dot-like or form elongated to irregularly branched ridges; visible with a lens, especially when the thallus is wet. This is:part of thallus surface,part of thallus interior.
