Kind
kind (noun, pl. kinds) – any group of parts with similar or identical traits, not necessarily defined by a particular concept; as expressed in the sentence: "... this kind of a structure appears to have the same qualities as another one ...". In contrast to the nebulous structural attribute that is referred to as kind, a category is defined by a particular concept and a type is a particular category, i. e., one that is characteristic or typical for that particular group. Whenever possible, the attribute kind should be avoided, because it implies that the descriptive quality of a particular structure or object is unknown.
