label data (noun,no singular) – the specimen information that has been recorded for a particular collection, for example, a type specimen. The following information should be recorded on the label referring to a particular specimen: locality, habitat information (like substrate), collector (i. e., the person who identified the specimen), collection number, collection date, determiner, determination date. Additional information is often also recorded as an annotations. For example, data that refer to a revision or confirmation of the original identification or otherwise important observations (like the chemistry found by analysis of the specimen, the dimensions of the spores measured in a microscope, etc.).
