Meridional zone

meridional zone (noun,biogeography term,no plural) – a floristic zone restricted to the Northern Hemisphere south of the temperate zone and north of the subtropical zone, climatically and floristically a rather diverse region including the European Mediterranean Region, the Central Asian Steppes and Deserts, North American Prairies and Deserts, and the Californian Mediterranean Region. Kind of:floristic zone.
