Oceanity

oceanity (noun,no plural; opposite: continentality; no plural) – (1) the climatic influence caused by the temperature retention and humidity of oceans. In proximity to an ocean the climate is typically more humid and characterized by less extreme temperature fluctuations; winters are mild and summers warm. (2) the degree to which a species is distributed along a gradient from the coast towards the interior of a continent.
