partially (adverb) – to limited a degree, not totally, incompletely, referring to a condition, state or preference; e. g., the thallus is not completely but partially pigmented; the habitat is not completely but partially shaded.; partially is used more often than partly to modify an adjective or past participle that names or suggests a process. Related terms: partly.
