Phylogeny

phylogeny (noun, pl. phylogenies) – the historic evolution of a group as inferred from hypotheses about common ancestry; modern phylogenies are most frequently based on molecular evidence using cladistics to establish hypotheses depicted in form of a tree or cladogram.
