Pseudooperculate

pseudooperculate (adjective,ascus term) – similar to operculate, but with a thickened non-refractive lid that becomes detached as a whole when ascospores are released; referring to thin walled asci with a thickened ascus apex that breaks apart as a whole when the juncture between this lid and the thin lateral walls ruptures. Kind of:ascus dehiscence type.
