Reaction

reaction (noun, pl. reaction) – a characteristic result caused by the reactivity of a biological structure with a chemical reagent; e. g., spot test reactions of lichens that are observed as diagnostic colour reactions when a test reagent is applied to a thallus that contains certain secondary metabolites.
