Scyphus

scyphus (noun, pl. scyphi) – a broadened, usually funnel- or cup-shaped expanded apex of a podetium in the genus Cladonia; some authors distinguish between an open-base funnel, and a closed-bottom cup (= a scyphus in the strict sense).
