Segregate

segregate (noun, pl. segregates) – in taxonomy, a single taxon or a group of new taxa which is excluded from others because of new evidence that this segregate can be distinguished as a new entity; often used, when it becomes evident, that a species group is heterogeneous and that several species can be distinguished within that group.
