Septum thickening
septum thickening (noun, ascospore term, spore morphology term, pl. septum thickenings; synonym: septal thickening) – a swelling of the endospore along a spore septum, usually more distinctly pronounced along the side of the spore septum and thinning towards the centre of the spore, where the septum is penetrated by a central pore. Because septum thickenings are most often asymmetrical they are responsible for characteristic shapes of the cell lumina. This is:part of spore.
