Stria

stria (noun, pl. striae) – a fine line or narrow band, oblong-ellipsoid to linear; usually used for minute (0.1-1.0 mm long) groove, channel, crack, or whitish ridge, usually parallel to the length of the axis, in the cortex of Alectoria and Ramalina (resembling elongated pseudocyphellae and treated as such by many authors). This is:part of upper thallus surface.
