Syncortex

syncortex (noun, pl. syncortices; variant spelling: syncortexes) – a non-pored polysaccharide layer on the surface of a true cortex (eucortex), compare epicortex. This is:part of thallus surface,part of thallus interior. Kind of: cortex.
