Temperate zone

temperate zone (noun,biogeography term, pl. temperate zones) – (1) zones characterized by temperate (moderate) climate, i. e., a climate without extremes; (2) a floristic zone restricted to the Northern Hemisphere south of the boreal zone and north of the meridional zone; largely characterized by the deciduous forests of the northern hemisphere. Kind of:floristic zone.
