location (noun, pl. locations; synonym: placement)

  1. the site, where a structure is located (positioned) on or within a particular organism; e. g., pruina are located on the thallus surface of a lichen, on some mycelia apothecia form in the older central parts only; compare position;
  2. sometimes used in the sense of locality, i. e., the place, where an organism was found or collected.
