Rhizomorph

rhizomorph (noun, pl. rhizomorphs) – a root-like aggregation of hyphae with an apical meristem and usually differentiated into a rind and core (in contrast to a mycelial cord), typically found in basidiomycetes (Agaricales) and not present in ascomycetes; not to be confused with rhizinomorphs!
