Rhizinomorph

rhizinomorph (noun, pl. rhizinomorphs) – rhizine-like organ not attaching the thallus to its substrate, typically found in umbilicate lichens (e. g., in Umbilicaria or Dermatocarpon). Related terms: mycelial cord, plaque, rhizomorph, rhizohypha. This is:part of lower thallus surface.
