annulate (adjective; synonyms: annelate, annelidic) – ringed; consisting of rings or ring-like segments; e. g., in the cortex of Usnea spp. referring to cracks or differentiated, often pigmented zones forming a ring-like segmentation along the thallus branches. The term annelidic is essentially a synonym, referring to the worm-like segmented structure of the earthworm (Annelid). Related terms: annular, annulate, annelidic.
