Evanescence type dehiscence

evanescence-type dehiscence (noun,ascus term, pl. evanescence-type dehiscences) – ascus dehiscence by disintegration of the ascus wall; typically present in prototunicate asci (Lichinales, calicioid Physciaceae), where the entire ascus wall disintegrates. The verrucaroid ascus (Verrucariaceae), where the ascus disintegrates only at the apex, may possibly also described as an evanescent dehiscence. Kind of:ascus dehiscence type.
