flexuous (adjective; variant spelling: flexose) – wavy; regularly bending or curving in alternate directions, with more or less gradual and rounded bends, not angular; referring to horizontally flattened structures with a wavy outline (in contrast to undulate). Typically applied to lobes or thallus margins. Apothecial margins also become flexuous, often as a result of crowding.
