Glossary formatting rules

From LIAS Glossary
Jump to: navigation, search

Synonyms that are glossary entries themselves should be given only as singular, unless the plural form is unusual. Example: simplify "synonym: sl. branching pattern, pl. branching patterns" to "synonym: branching pattern".

Formatting tip: Sometimes it is desirable to abbreviate the first term in a pair of terms, but keep both terms as links. The Wiki allows to distinguish between the display text and the link text if a vertical bar ("pipe") is used inside the square brackets. Example: primary thallus and a secondary thallus.
