Locule

locule (noun, ascospore term,spore morphology term, pl. locules) – a small cavity; (1) referring to spore cells: one part of the cell lumen formed by constriction of the cytoplasm, not yet divided into distinctly separate cells; see polarilocular; (2) referring to ascocarp ontogeny: a cavity that forms from differentiation of ascostromatic hyphae inside a primordium; see ascolocular.
