Mazaedioid

From LIAS Glossary
Jump to: navigation, search

mazaedioid (adjective) – asci soon disintegrating. Comment: A mazaedium is not a distinctly separate kind of ascoma but an apothecium with prototunicate asci soon disintegrating. A more accurate distinction would thus be: 1. apothecioid (without mazaedium), 2. apothecioid (with mazaedium).
