Ontogeny

ontogeny (noun, pl. ontogenies) – the regulated maturation process of parts of an organism; e. g., the formation of an ascocarp including its growth and internal differentiation, the development of ascospores associated with wall differentiation and the formation of spore septa or ornamentation.
