Primary colour

primary colour (noun, pl. primary colours) – a standardized hue of a colour; a single reference type of a colour that is used for colour reproduction either from a light source (additive colours: monitor) or with inks (subtractive colours: printout). Typical additive primary colours are: red (R), green (G) and blue (B); typical subtractive primary colours are cyan (C), magenta (M) and yellow (Y); see colour, colour wheel, hue.
