Spermogonium

spermogonium (noun, pl. spermogonia; variant spelling: sl. spermagone, pl. spermagones; sl. spermagonium, pl. spermagonia) – a male gametangium that produces sperm cells. In ascomycetes structurally similar if not identical to conidiomata. – OR – a pycnidium (walled, usually flask-shape, structure) in which the conidia function as male gametes (spermatia).
