Subimmersed

subimmersed (adjective) – immersed with most of the lower part, usually at least ca. three-fourths of the structure immersed; usually referring to ascocarps or conidiomata that are emergent, i. e., in the process of becoming sessile, however, some ascocarps or conidiomata do not become sessile even at maturity and remain at least partially sunken into the thallus. Related terms: semi-immersed.
